Hello, I'm Jamie

In 2022 — after eight years as a developer — I started to burn out. I took some time away to spend with my family, and found my photography hobby becoming a second career. Food photography became a large part of my work, alongside a personal project which focussed on “Makers”. Writing software never fully went away though.

This website has been many things over the years. In November 2024 I “retconned” all previous blog posts, newsletters and essays into one place. All old URLs redirected here.

I live in Cornwall, United Kingdom; but am originally from the small island of Guernsey. Living by the beach it’s hard not to spend lots of time in water, usually surfing.
